Located in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST) is a prominent institution jointly established by the People’s Government of Hubei Province and the Ministry of Education of PRC. Recognized for its excellence, WUST is part of the national Double First-Class Initiative and has been designated as a National Exemplary University for Reform in Undergraduate Training for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The university’s history dates back to 1898, with its modern incarnation beginning in 1958 as Wuhan Iron and Steel Institute. Over the years, WUST has cultivated over 250,000 professionals, many of whom have become leading figures in various fields.

WUST spans three campuses in Wuhan, covering an area of 1.71 million square meters. The university boasts advanced facilities, including two main libraries with millions of volumes and e-books. WUST excels in engineering and sciences, offering 79 undergraduate programs, 33 master’s degree points in first-level disciplines, 20 professional master’s categories, and 8 doctoral degree points. The university has received numerous national awards for its scientific and technological advancements.
WUST maintains strong industry partnerships with major enterprises and local governments, leading to the creation of research centers and institutes. It also has a global outlook, with partnerships in over 100 universities and institutions worldwide, running international education programs in collaboration with institutions in the US, Australia, the UK, Italy, and the Netherlands. Currently, WUST is home to nearly 500 international students.
