ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

Shandong Second Medical University, located in Weifang City on the Shandong Peninsula, is a comprehensive medical college with a history dating back to the late 19th century. Originally founded as Ledaoyuan Medical School and Weixian American Presbyterian Hospital, it became Shandong Changwei Medical School in 1951, Changwei Medical College in 1958, and Weifang Medical College in 1987. It was renamed Shandong Second Medical University in November 2023.

The university offers a range of educational programs, including doctoral, master’s, undergraduate, and international programs. It began undergraduate education in 1958, began offering master’s degrees in 1986, and started enrolling international students in 1998. It also offers postdoctoral research opportunities and is involved in national talent training projects.
Shandong Second Medical University operates two campuses, Fuyanshan and Yuhe, covering about 2,000 mu with over 710,000 square meters of buildings. It has more than 17,400 students, including doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate students. The university is equipped with Ledao Academy, Jishi Academy, and Confucius Academy, and its library holds over 1.8 million books. It has 3 directly affiliated hospitals, 11 non-directly affiliated hospitals, and 14 provincial-level joint postgraduate training bases.

The university provides 36 undergraduate majors across seven disciplines and offers 10 first-level master’s degree disciplines and 59 second-level master’s degree points. It has received high praise in national assessments and has strong programs in clinical medicine, public health, pharmacology, and toxicology. It has also won awards for teaching achievements and has a 100% pass rate in provincial master’s thesis inspections for nine consecutive years.
With a faculty of over 1,500, including prominent academics and specialists, the university is involved in national key specialties and provincial key disciplines. It has established numerous provincial innovation platforms and is a national base for various health and medical programs.

Shandong Second Medical University recruits’ international students for undergraduate clinical medicine (in English) and maintains partnerships with over 60 institutions across more than 20 countries. 1. Application Form: Completed and signed online application form.
2. High School Transcript: Scanned color copy with official stamp, in Chinese or English.
3. High School Diploma: Scanned color copy, or pre-graduation certificate for fresh graduates, in Chinese or English.

5. Photo: Digital color photo with white background (JPG, 100-500KB).

Eligibility:
  1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens.
  2. For a bachelor’s program, applicants should have a high school diploma or its equivalent. For a master’s program, a bachelor’s degree is required. PhD applicants must hold a master’s degree.
