Nanjing Medical University logo

Nanjing Medical University (NMU), founded in 1934 and initially named Jiangsu Provincial College of Health Policy and Management, is a prestigious Double First-Class institution. It stands as a pioneer medical school established by the Ministry of Education, the National Health Commission, and the Jiangsu Provincial Government. It holds an A-level status in the Jiangsu High-level University Excellence Program.

Relocated to Nanjing in 1957 and renamed Nanjing Medical College, the university became Nanjing Medical University in 1993. It was among the first in China to offer six-year medical programs and doctoral degrees.

NMU operates three campuses: Jiangning, Wutai, and Kangda College in Lianyungang, with over 1,900 faculty members and nearly 20,000 students. The university is home to seven academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Sciences, one foreign academician from the US National Academy of Medicine, and 78 national high-level talents. It boasts six national teaching teams and numerous innovation and research groups.

The university offers extensive programs with 8 first-level doctoral disciplines, 54 second-level doctoral disciplines, and 11 first-level master’s disciplines. It excels in 3 national key disciplines and 29 national clinical key disciplines, with nine disciplines ranking in the top 1% globally according to ESI, including Clinical Medicine and Pharmacology & Toxicology.

NMU provides a range of clinical and public health education resources and offers 25 undergraduate programs, integrated undergraduate-to-doctor programs, and “5+3” integrated programs. It has been recognized for its top-notch student training and high employment rates, with graduates consistently excelling in medical qualification exams.

 

The university has established several key research platforms, including the State Key Laboratory of Reproductive Medicine and the International Joint Research Center for Environment and Human Health. It has received numerous national and provincial awards for its research contributions.

NMU actively engages in international cooperation with institutions in the US, Canada, Australia, Sweden, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. During the 14th Five-Year Plan, NMU aims to enhance its global reputation as a leading research-oriented medical university, guided by Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics.

MBBS CRITERIA & ELIGIBILITY

1) Applicants should not exceed the age of 25 by the time of enrollment

2)Transcript requirements (meet one of following requirements)

  1. High school transcript: GPA≥3.0 (on a scale of 4.0) or its equivalent
  2. GCE A-level: all subjects should be C or above

iii. GED total score: ≥580, all subjects: ≥145

  1. Indian State Board Examination: the mark secured of all the subjects/the maximum mark of all the subjects≥85%, CBSE≥70%, NEET score≥300 (from NEET taken in 2022 to 2024)

3)English level

i .Applicants should provide IELTS result (the total score should be no less than 6 points, no less than 5 of each item); TOEFL result (the total score should no less than 85 points, no less than 15 points per individual), Duolingo result (the total score should no less than 115 points).

ii .Applicants who have earned a high-school diploma, or a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree, from a program for which English is the primary language of instruction.

Note: NO predicted score is accepted.

  1. Applicants take an online interview, those who pass the assessment will receive a PRE-ADMISSION LETTER from Nanjing Medical University.
  2. Applicants complete a non-refundable deposit payment of CNY13,000 (amount received by NMU) within the period specified in the PRE-ADMISSION LETTER. Failure to pay the deposit within designated period may result in a cancellation of admission.
  3. Office of Admissions and Recruitment sends OFFICIAL ADMISSION LETTER and the Visa Application for Study in China (JW202 form) after receiving the deposit.
  4. Incoming students apply for an X Visa at an embassy or consulate of P.R. China, along with the ADMISSION LETTER and the JW202 form.

Notes:

  1. Please be sure to indicate the application number and name when remitting your payment.
  2. If the student gives up the admission to our university due to personal reasons, the deposit will not be refunded.
  3. For students who have been admitted, if they fail to meet the university’s registration requirements at the time of registration and are disqualified from admission, the deposit will not be refunded.
  4. Applicants in their final year of study will also be considered for admission. It is the applicant’s responsibility to present all required original documents (graduation diploma, degree certificate, transcript, language proficiency certificate and other attachment materials, etc.) at registration. Failure to obtain and present all required original documents will result in cancellation of admission.
