ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

Jinzhou Medical University began to recruit international students in 1997. In 2012, it was approved by the Ministry of Education as a “qualified institution for all-English courses in clinical medicine for international students in China” and became the first Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) online test site in western Liaoning authorized by Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters. In 2014, it was officially listed by the Ministry of Education as a “higher education institution accepting Chinese government scholarship international students”. In 2015, it was approved by the Ministry of Education as a “qualified institution for recruiting students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan”. In 2021, it passed the quality certification of colleges and universities for studying in China.

The International Education College was founded in 2004 and renamed the International Education College in 2007. It is responsible for recruiting and managing foreign students. The college currently has 18 faculty members and 4 departments (office, science and education department, admissions department, and international student management office).
The college has now formed a relatively complete education system for international students in China, with two academic levels: undergraduate education and postgraduate education for international students in China, and two categories: Chinese government scholarship students and self-funded students. The college actively connects with the national “Belt and Road” strategy, with a total of 51 source countries and 486 international students on campus. In 2020, the college ranked eighth in the country in terms of the proportion of international students released by the Soft Science Ranking, and its international education level remains at the forefront of colleges and universities in the province.

Solidly promote the construction of “one integration and two highs” in the college, and promote the deep integration of party building work and central work. Over the years, the college has effectively improved the comprehensive quality of students by organizing students to participate in various competitions, innovatively holding international cultural festivals, and conducting inter-provincial exchanges. It has won the highest level award (Excellent Team Award) in the National Clinical Thinking and Skills Competition for International Students in China twice; won 2 first prizes, 1 second prize, and 5 third prizes in various Chinese language competitions at or above the provincial level; won 1 special prize, 2 first prizes, and 4 second prizes in the provincial photography competition for international students in China, expanding the influence of the school. The college was awarded the honorary title of “Advanced Unit for Studying Abroad in Liaoning Province”; and won 1 first prize in the “Feeling China’s New Era” photography competition of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Three “Perceiving China” social practice projects of the China Scholarship Council were approved, and the special topic of foreign teachers was reported once in the Global Connection column of Xinhua News Agency. Two short films were adopted by the China Scholarship Council for related publicity of studying abroad in China.
