
China Student Visa
To study in China, you need to apply for a student visa, which is either an X1 or X2 visa:
Type of studnets Visa
X1 Visa:
Students studying in China for longer than 180 days are eligible for an X1 visa.
X2 Visa:
Students studying in China for less than 180 days are eligible for an X2 visa.
- When applying for a Chinese student visa, keep the following points in mind:
- Apply at least one month before to the date you want to arrive.
- Where to submit an application: Apply at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate that is closest to you.
- What to bring: The following paperwork is required:
- A passport that is still valid for at least six months
- A filled-out application for a visa
- A recent picture from a passport
- An original and a photocopy of the university’s admissions announcement
The “Visa Application for Study in China” (Form JW201 or JW202) in both original and photocopy form - Evidence of financial support or a scholarship
