China Student Visa

To study in China, you need to apply for a student visa, which is either an X1 or X2 visa:

Students studying in China for longer than 180 days are eligible for an X1 visa.

Students studying in China for less than 180 days are eligible for an X2 visa.

When applying for a Chinese student visa, keep the following points in mind:
Apply at least one month before to the date you want to arrive.
Where to submit an application: Apply at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate that is closest to you.
What to bring: The following paperwork is required:
A passport that is still valid for at least six months
A filled-out application for a visa
A recent picture from a passport
An original and a photocopy of the university’s admissions announcement
The “Visa Application for Study in China” (Form JW201 or JW202) in both original and photocopy form
Evidence of financial support or a scholarship
