ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

The university employs a faculty of 1,338 members, consisting of 951 master’s supervisors, 599 educators with senior professional titles or higher, and 461 individuals holding doctorates. It has 11 provincial outstanding teaching teams, 17 provincial exemplary grassroots teaching organizations, and 103 talents recognized at the national and provincial levels.

Clinical Medicine and Pharmacology & Toxicology have ranked among the top 1% in the ESI global standings, which is a widely acknowledged benchmark for research performance. The university offers 3 primary disciplines authorized for master’s degrees, 10 categories for professional degree authorization, 3 provincial key primary disciplines, and 3 provincial advantageous and distinctive discipline groups. Additionally, it has set up 24 research platforms recognized by provincial and ministerial authorities.

The university has connections with seven prominent hospitals that collectively provide over 15,000 beds, nearly 10 million outpatient visits, and more than 500,000 inpatient admissions each year. These hospitals feature three national key specialties and 126 provincial key specialties. Furthermore, there are over 50 hospitals dedicated to clinical teaching and internships.

The university actively participates in international exchanges and collaborations, forming partnerships with numerous foreign institutions, including the National University of Singapore. It has brought on board 164 domestic and international scholars, flexibly welcomed 10 overseas scholars, and sent close to 600 key faculty members and exceptional students abroad for study and exchange programs.

Why Chose Hubei University of Medicine

Hubei University of Medicine (HBUM, Chinese: 湖北医药学院) is a state-run institution located in Shiyan City, Hubei Province, China. It was established in 1965 and was initially called Wuhan Medical College Yunyang School. The college originated in Yun County, a remote mountainous region in the northwest of Hubei Province, and relocated to its current site a year later. The university has a total of 908 full-time faculty members, including 180 professors and 277 associate professors. The library at HBUM houses a collection of 840,000 books. The university currently enrolls 15,000 full-time students. There are 12 undergraduate programs available, such as Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Anesthesiology.

Hubei University of Medicine is acknowledged by the WHO, WFME, WDOMS, and ECFMG.
PM&DC has approved it, and Pakistani students can apply for the NRE Exam to become registered medical practitioners in Pakistan.
Graduates can apply for the medical licensing examinations of USMLE, UKMLA/PLAB, GMC, and AMC.

Application Material:

    Certified Copy of High School Diploma
  2. If the diploma is in a language other than Chinese or English, it must be translated into Chinese or English and notarized.

  8. Complete all required items at a hospital, including personal information, photo, checkup date, doctor’s suggestions, and signature.

  11. For master’s and PhD Programs:

  13. Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors (with valid signature and date).
Eligibility:
  1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens.
  2. For a bachelor’s program, applicants should have a high school diploma or its equivalent. For a master’s program, a bachelor’s degree is required. PhD applicants must hold a master’s degree.

Important Note

  1. Students are responsible for covering their own meal expenses.
  2. Meal options include dining at restaurants (Muslim restaurants are available) or the campus canteen (with a Muslim canteen).
  3. Students may also choose to cook for themselves or opt for other preferred arrangements.
  4. The estimated monthly living cost, including accommodation and daily expenses, is approximately 1,000 RMB.
