ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY
Located in Jiamusi City, the easternmost and most ecologically charming city in China, Jiamusi University is a prominent institution in Heilongjiang Province. Jiamusi, liberated in 1947 and once the capital of Hejiang Province, is renowned for its strategic location in the Northeast Asian Economic Circle, serving as a vital channel for cooperation with Russia. The city boasts a well-connected transportation network with flights linking major Chinese cities and high-speed rail lines intersecting Harbin-Jiamusi, Mudanjiang-Jiamusi, and Jiamusi-Heilongjiang. Jiamusi is also distinguished by its Sanjiang Plain wetlands, Heixiazi Island, and the unique Hezhe customs, making it a cradle of significant ecological and cultural heritage.
Founded on July 20, 1947, Jiamusi University was formed through the merger of Jiamusi Medical College, Jiamusi Institute of Technology, Jiamusi Normal College, and the former Jiamusi University in 1995, following the approval of the former State Education Commission. Over the years, the university has expanded its scope by incorporating several other institutions, including Jiamusi Grain Workers Secondary Vocational School, Fujin Normal School, and Heilongjiang Polytechnic School. Today, Jiamusi University spans a campus area of 1.31 million square meters, with an additional 2.4537 million square meters dedicated to teaching, research, and internship bases. Its four campuses are set against the picturesque backdrop of Sifeng Mountain and the Songhua River, recognized as a provincial civilized and green campus.
The university’s assets total 2.093 billion yuan, with 446 million yuan allocated to teaching and scientific research equipment. The campus is equipped with modern facilities, including comprehensive experimental training buildings, student housing, gourmet restaurants, and sports venues. The university also features a modern concert hall, art gallery, and extensive library resources that blend traditional and digital formats.

Scholarships are awarded annually to students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance. For MBBS students, the scholarship amount is 15,000 RMB per student each year. The top 20-25 students, determined by academic evaluation, will receive this award. Master’s students are eligible for a scholarship of 20,000 RMB per year, while PhD students will receive 25,000 RMB annually.

3. Passport Photo
A recent passport-sized photo of the applicant.
4. Certified Copy of High School Transcripts
If the transcripts are in a language other than Chinese or English, they must be translated into Chinese or English and notarized.
5. Photocopy of Passport
Must include name, passport number, expiration date, and photo. The passport must be an ordinary passport and valid for at least six months. Applicants residing in China must include a copy of the page with a valid visa or residence permit.
6. Certificate of Non-criminal Record
Issued by the local police station with an official stamp.
7. English Proficiency Test Certificate
Original or notarized copy in Chinese or English.
8. Physical Examination Report
Complete all required items at a hospital, including personal information, photo, checkup date, doctor’s suggestions, and signature.
9. Letter of Guardian’s Authorization (For applicants under 18)
10. Certificate of Good Conduct
Provided by the current or previous school/company in Chinese or English to enhance the success rate.
11. For master’s and PhD Programs:
Research proposal (minimum 1000 words)
Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors (with valid signature and date).
Entry Requirements
1.1 Bachelor’s Degree: Applicants under the age of 25 must have High School Degree with excellent grades.
1.2 Master’s Degree: Applicants under the age of 35 must have Bachelor’s Degree.
1.3 Doctoral Degree: Applicants under the age of 40 must have Master’s Degree with excellent grades. (The applicants cannot be studying in China while applying.)
