ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY
Yangtze University, the largest comprehensive institution in Hubei Province, is recognized as one of the province’s key universities and a participant in the National Education Power Project. Established in 1936, it has developed expertise in petroleum science, flooding disaster management, wetland agriculture, and Jing Chu culture. The university is supported by the People’s Government of Hubei Province and major corporations such as China National Petroleum Corporation and China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation.
Located mainly in Jingzhou City with an additional campus in Wuhan, Yangtze University boasts significant academic strength. Five of its disciplines—engineering, botany & zoology, agricultural science, earth science, and clinical medicine—are ranked in the global top 1% according to ESI. The university employs 3,107 faculty members, including 338 professors and 867 associate professors, and offers a range of programs from undergraduate to PhD levels. It has 110 undergraduate programs, 37 academic master’s programs, and 22 professional master’s programs, serving over 33,000 undergraduates and 7,000 graduate students.
Yangtze University emphasizes open education and has partnerships with 55 petroleum and petrochemical enterprises, as well as 160 local governments and enterprises. It is a National Demonstration Institution for Industry-University Research Cooperation and has established international collaborations with over 100 institutions worldwide. The university also supports the Belt & Road initiative and operates an HSK examination center. Its international student body represents 69 countries, including those along the Belt and Road.

Scholarships are awarded annually to students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance. For MBBS students, the scholarship amount is 15,000 RMB per student each year. The top 20-25 students, determined by academic evaluation, will receive this award. Master’s students are eligible for a scholarship of 20,000 RMB per year, while PhD students will receive 25,000 RMB annually.
Application Materials

If the diploma is in a language other than Chinese or English, it must be translated into Chinese or English and notarized.
3. Passport Photo
A recent passport-sized photo of the applicant.
4. Certified Copy of High School Transcripts
If the transcripts are in a language other than Chinese or English, they must be translated into Chinese or English and notarized.
5. Photocopy of Passport
Must include name, passport number, expiration date, and photo. The passport must be an ordinary passport and valid for at least six months. Applicants residing in China must include a copy of the page with a valid visa or residence permit.
6. Certificate of Non-criminal Record
Issued by the local police station with an official stamp.
7. English Proficiency Test Certificate
Original or notarized copy in Chinese or English.
8. Physical Examination Report
Complete all required items at a hospital, including personal information, photo, checkup date, doctor’s suggestions, and signature.
9. Letter of Guardian’s Authorization (For applicants under 18)
10. Certificate of Good Conduct
Provided by the current or previous school/company in Chinese or English to enhance the success rate.
11. For master’s and PhD Programs:
Research proposal (minimum 1000 words)
Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors (with valid signature and date).
Entry Requirements
1. Eligibility: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens between the ages of 18 and 30, in good health, and have no criminal record.
2. Educational Background: Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent.
