ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

Xinjiang Medical University is located in the beautiful city of Urumqi. It is the only medical college jointly established by the province and the ministry in Xinjiang. There are 27,984 full-time students (21,682 undergraduates, 5,117 postgraduates, 678 doctoral students, and 507 international students at all levels of academic education). The school has 26 colleges and departments and offers 29 undergraduate majors. The clinical medicine discipline ranks in the top 2.33‰ of the ESI global ranking, pharmacology and toxicology ranks in the top 8.32‰ of the ESI global ranking, and the potential value of biology and biochemistry has increased to 91.43%. There are 5 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 2 professional doctoral degree authorization points, 13 first-level discipline master’s degree authorization points, 8 master’s professional degree authorization points, 4 postdoctoral research mobile stations, and 4 postdoctoral research workstations. The school has 8 directly affiliated hospitals. It has established inter-school cooperation with universities and research institutions in Russia, Japan, the United Kingdom, Tajikistan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and other countries.

Xinjiang Medical University has been enrolling international students since 1993. It is one of the 44 medical schools that accept self-funded international students majoring in clinical medicine and implement English teaching. Our international education has formed a complete education system covering undergraduate, master and doctoral programs. In the past 30 years, our school has trained more than 2,300 international students, including more than 160 postgraduates, more than 1,800 undergraduates and more than 345 language and medical training students, covering majors such as clinical medicine, integrated Chinese and Western medicine clinical medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, stomatology, acupuncture and massage, public health and preventive medicine, and pharmacy.

Application Material:

  1. Reference Letter from High School (Not mandatory for MBBS)
    Certified Copy of High School Diploma
  2. If the diploma is in a language other than Chinese or English, it must be translated into Chinese or English and notarized.

  4. A recent passport-sized photo of the applicant.
  5. Certified Copy of High School Transcripts

CRITERIA & ELIGIBILITY

  1. Scanned copy of your passport (valid ordinary passport).
  2. Notarized or authenticated certificates of the highest academic.
  3. Academic transcripts. Documents in languages ​​other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by notarized Chinese or English translations issued by a formal translation agency.
  4. Language proficiency certificate. Applicants applying for Chinese as the language of instruction must provide a valid HSK score report that meets the corresponding Chinese proficiency requirements. Applicants applying for a foreign language as the language of instruction should provide corresponding language proficiency certificates according to the school’s requirements, such as IELTS or TOEFL score reports.
  5. A blue-background ID photo (same size as a passport photo);
  6. Study or research plan in China (no less than 200 words for undergraduates, no less than 500 words for continuing education students, and no less than 1,000 words for postgraduates), written in Chinese or English.
  7. Recommendation letters. Applicants for master’s and doctoral degree programs and those applying to study in China as advanced scholars must submit two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors, written in Chinese or English (signed by the recommenders);
  8. Certificate of no criminal record. Applicants must submit a valid certificate of no criminal record issued by the local public security bureau, which should usually be issued within 6 months before the date of application submission.
  9. Scanned copy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form (the original copy should be kept by the applicant. This form is printed by the Chinese health and quarantine department and must be filled in English). Applicants should strictly follow the items required in the “Foreigner Physical Examination Form”. The “Foreigner Physical Examination Form” without missing items, without the applicant’s photo or without a seal on the photo, and without the signature and seal of the doctor and the hospital is invalid. The examination results are valid for no less than 6 months.
  10. Applicants under the age of 18 must submit relevant legal documents of their legal guardian in China.
  11. Other materials may include various personal award certificates and publicly published papers in related professional fields.
